Lawn Maintenance
Lawn Maintenance includes everything
that is necessary to keep your lawn as healthy and as beautiful as possible. In
some situations, this may take a couple of seasons to restore your lawn to it's
full potential.
Weekly Maintenance
This includes maintaining your lawn at a height between 2 1/4 to
3 1/4 inches dependant on weather conditions. After mowing, all
hardscape surfaces (walkways, driveways, retaining walls) are
trimmed and blown free from clippings.
Removal of Clippings
All clippings will be removed from the lawn surface and disposed of
properly. This will not only improve the health of your lawn by
decreasing the layer of thatch that weakens lawns, but also improve
the appearance of the lawn.
Core Aeration
This application removes between ten and twelve cores of soil per
square foot. This helps the lawn roots get the air, water, and nutrients
they need. The cores removed are left on the surface to break down
naturally and re-incorporate themselves into the soil. Dependant
on the site, this service will either be provided in spring or fall.
Grub Control Treatment
Grubs are insects that, in their larvae stage feed on turf roots.
The damage done can be seen as patchy, extremely weak looking lawn
areas, eventually killing grass in the area. A treatment is performed
in mid-summer as a curative and preventative, dependant on the site
needs.
Fertilization Treatment
Lawn needs fertilizer to survive. Turf roots do not grow very deeply,
therefore depleting necessary nutrients very quickly. Therefore, we apply
fertilizer for times a year. We use a granular slow-release fertilizer
to provide nutrients over a longer period of time and decrease fertilizer
damage to the lawn surface. We use different fertilizer for each season
specially formulated for that time of year.
Liquid Weed Control
In addition to granular weed preventer, we also spot spray hard to kill
weeds with a non-selective weed killer. This is done as necessary.
Topdressing and Overseeding
Your lawn is a living, ever-changing entity. Included in your proposal
is to dress the lawn with topsoil in areas of weak turf and seed these
areas. This is done as necessary. Depending on the property and the
year, it is done in spring, fall or both. Each site dictates its needs
differently.
